A standard piano tuning session typically takes around 1 to 2 hours. However, more extensive work, like pitch-raising or repairs, or troubleshooting unknown issues may take longer.
Pianos typically require tuning every 6 - 9 months. Some factors to consider when determining this include piano age, how often it is used, if it is used in a professional setting, and climate. In extreme cases a piano may require tuning as often as every 3 months.
Piano tuning is a highly skilled profession, and attempting to tune a piano without proper training and tools can lead to damage or incorrect tuning. It's best left to professional tuners.
